A vegan cupcake has all the ingredients to be just as delicious

A Vegan Cupcake? Yes when you go vegan and accept that there are things that you have to give up in life. "Real" milk, "real" chocolate, eggs... it's hard for some, not so difficult for others, but there are sacrifices. Don't think that this is a valid sacrifice - do they peak your interest?

If they don't, they should. These cupcakes aren't just an idea, they're an actual fact. You really can make a delicious dessert - icing and all - that will have any dairy-eater craving.

What Makes Vegan Cupcakes Different?

Well, not only do they have the vegan ingredients that make them 100% milk, dairy, and meat free, but those who have made and eaten these cupcakes swear they taste better!

"You've not lived till you've tried one of them. I'm dead serious." A good friend of mine reported. "I shall never make a normal cupcake again!"

Some say you can taste the ingredients in the cupcake better. Others say that it's just plain healthier for you, since there's no dairy.

Yet more simply don't care what anyone says - they're convinced that it's simply better.

However you want to look at it, vegan cupcakes are a step on the wild side when it comes to desserts that just aren't what you're normally used to.

So, What's in Vegan Cupcakes?

They have all the ingredients you would expect them to, no surprise! But there are also some ingredients that you just might not expect. Here's a basic recipe to enjoy and experiment with.

1 cup of soy milk

¾ of a cup of granulate sugar

1/3 of a cup of canola oil

1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 cup of all purpose flour

½ of a teaspoon of almond extract

¾ of a cup of cocoa powder

¾ of a teaspoon of baking soda

¼ of a teaspoon of salt

After whisking together the vinegar and soy milk in a large bowl, set it aside for a few minutes to curdle. Add the sugar, extracts, and oil to the soy mixture and beat it until it's foaming.

In another bowl, add the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add together both ingredients, then beat together until there's no lumps at all in the mixture.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
